Invitation for a Donation

For the past 6 years, I have participated in the Multiple Sclerosis 50 Mile Challenge Walk from Carlsbad to San Diego, California. I walk for my best friend of over 26 years, Rita, who was diagnosed the same year my daughter was born - 2002. Now, to participate in the walk, you have to raise a MINIMUM of $2,500 by September... well, I thought I should get started!

So to raise money for this worthwhile cause, I would like to do something for you. I would like to offer to design an invitation for you, free of charge. Anything you want. Free. Of. Charge.

It could be a baby announcement or a birthday party or a moving announcement or even a bridal shower invite. What you will get, is a high resolution PDF file to print on your home color printer, or a .jpg to upload to a photo processing site for a print. Your choice. You can also choose the size - use up that box of envelopes you already have, or send it as a postcard.

Here is the catch - you had to know there was a catch. There is ALWAYS a catch. I would love for you to make a donation on my page.

Event Invitations coming out of my Ears

For some reason, I don't really know why, but I've gotten this reputation for being able to design event invitations?

Okay, maybe I do know why... but I still think its pretty funny when my sister's sister-in-law, or my other sister's college roommate call me up for help. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a good invite now and again, but it is like they say, "When it rains, it hails the size of watermelons directly on your head".



What do you think? Shall we (Paper & Cake) design an entire downloadable tablescape around these invites? or are they just a little on the obscure side?

And you thought I only did birthday parties.

This makes 2 down, not that many to go on my list. This is an invitation I created using photoshop and illustrator and lots and lots of emails back and forth to the museum. The American Museum of Ceramic Art that is. The have an upcoming show centered around Pre-Columbian pottery, also featuring two contemporary artists.

I feel like I really connect with all things ceramic, mostly because I had clay in my hand from infancy. My mother (director of said museum) started out as a potter (well, not started out but, well, you get the point) she threw pots for 30 years, 3 kids, a second marriage and one major hand injury. I really get a kick out of working with my mom, my most important client.

Anyway, here is the (not quite final) invitation (but close enough).
